While taking part in the 2026 IGeLU Conference, the staff of the National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) visited Taiwan’s Central National Library.

Bringing together the users of Clarivate | Ex Libris products from countries around the world, the latest IGeLU conference was hosted by the Taiwan National University in Taipei, Taiwan’s capital, which is also the seat of the country’s national Library.

Representing NSK, which in 2025 transitioned to Clarivate’s Alma library services platform and the Primo VE discovery service, the NSK Assistant Director General for University Library Affairs Dr Dijana Machala was accompanied by several other members of NSK staff.

Plans for bringing closer Croatia’s and Taiwan’s national publishing outputs and research

During the visit, Dr Machala met with the Taiwan’s Central National Library Acting Director-General Dr Chih-Tsung Weng, who put forward a proposal for Taiwan’s and Croatia’s exchange of publications as part of the programme ran by Taiwan Resource Center for Chinese Studies.

Also, the meeting participants reflected on the two countries effective cooperation through the Center’s and MOFA Taiwan Fellowship exchange programmes, enabling Croatian researchers and students of sinology to attend courses and do research at Taiwan’s universities.
