On 4 September 2024, the Director of the National Library of Kosovo Dr Blerina Rogova Gaxha visited NSK, the National and University Library in Zagreb. During the visit, Dr Rogova Gaxha and the NSK Director General Professor Ivanka Stričević discussed the two libraries’ previous cooperation initiatives and various opportunities for continuing their successful collaboration in the future, especially with regard to the education of librarians and their continuous professional development, digitisation of resources in library collections, long-term preservation of digital heritage and storing legal deposit, as well as to the development of libraries and library profession in the future and to the social value of libraries.

“Solidarity with Ukraine”: Exhibition by Ukrainian Post Office on view at NSK by 15 Sep 2024

By 15 September 2024, the National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) is hosting the Solidarity with Ukraine exhibition, organised by the Ukrainian Post Office in cooperation with the Croatian Post Office and Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and featuring the postage stamps issued in support of Ukraine’s struggle against Russian aggression. Prepared by the Ukrainian Post Office as a way of expressing Ukraine’s gratitude to countries whose general post offices launched special postage stamps symbolising their countries’ solidarity with Ukraine in its struggle for freedom, the Solidarity with Ukraine exhibition features the stamps issued by 15 countries. On 28 May 2024, the National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) hosted the 2024 regional meeting of seven e-resources library purchasing consortia from central and eastern Europe. After all previous such regional meetings were held at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, NSK hosted the 2024 meeting, which apart from the representatives of the Hungarian and Croatian consortia brought together the representatives of another five library consortia – Austrian, Czech, Romanian, Slovak and Slovenian. Croatian Culture Corner opens at the National Library of Bulgaria

On 23 January 2024, the St. Cyril and Methodius National Library of Bulgaria opened its Croatian Culture Corner, on which occasion the Bulgarian national library and the National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) signed a two-year cooperation agreement.
