Second term of NSK Director General Dr Stričević as member of CENL Executive Committee

Director General of NSK, the National and University Library in Zagreb, Dr Ivanka Stričević.

The Director General of the National and University Library in Zagreb Dr Ivanka Stričević has been elected for her second consecutive term as a member of the Executive Committee of the Conference of European National Librarians (CENL).

CENL, which brings together 46 European national libraries, aims to strengthen the cooperation between Europe’s national libraries and promote their activities and valuable cultural heritage preserved in their collections. As a globally relevant library organisation, it is vitally important in times of crises and challenges, when libraries need to strengthen and increase all their capacities.

The election of the current seven members of the Committee was held as part of the 38th CENL Annual General Meeting, which was organised and hosted by the National Library of Poland, in Warsaw, from 16 to 18 June 2024.

Dr Stričević’s membership of the Committee will certainly strengthen the position of the National and University Library in Zagreb among other European libraries and provide more opportunities for its cooperation with other CENL member libraries as well as with other libraries and institutions in Europe and worldwide.

Determined to act in her role as the Committee member to the benefit of CENL, its member libraries and the entire international library community, Dr Stričević will seize the opportunity she has been given for the second time to establish new relations within the library sector, strengthen CENL’s relations with key organisations in Europe and the rest of the world and to encourage cooperation initiatives, new projects and the exchange of professional insight.
