Final “Heritage at Hand at CroAtrium” event showcases Croatian emigrant heritage

On 4 November 2025, the National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) organised the last event of Heritage at Hand at CroAtrium, its programme aimed at the popularisation and promotion of the CROATICA collection, which NSK assembles and curates. Held at CroAtrium, the Library’s multimedia lab and heritage interpretation centre ideal for presenting its collections to a wide range of audiences, the event showcased the results of a 2024 project which the Library ran in cooperation with the Croatian Fraternal Union of America.

Albania’s and Kosovo’s ambassadors to Croatia visit NSK

This week, the Director General of the National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) Dr Ivanka Stričević received visits from the members of the diplomatic missions of Albania and Kosovo to Croatia. NSK opening hours on All Saints’ Day (31 October & 1 November 2025)

The National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) will be providing its services at reduced hours on this year’s All Saints’ Day, creating the opportunity for its users and staff to commemorate their loved ones. On Friday, 31 October 2025, the National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) will close at 16.00 and reopen on Monday, 3 November 2025, resuming its regular opening hours.

NSK waving late return charges as part of 2025 Croatian Book Month

8 – 15 November 2025

As part of celebrating this year’s Croatian Book Month, the National and University Library in Zagreb will be waiving all late return charges from 8 to 15 November 2025. Overdue titles may be returned where they were issued – at the loan desk on the Library’s Ground Floor or in the reading rooms on Floors 3 and 4. Just return that overdue book and you will completely be let off the hook!

On 14 October 2025, the National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) and National and University Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina concluded a five-year cooperation agreement. On 25 September 2025, the National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) presented Incunabula Croatica, its monograph documenting the findings of decades of extensive research into Croatia’s earliest printed books and their relevance in the context of European cultural heritage. Issued as part of a major publishing project supported by the Croatian Ministry of Culture and Media and the Adris Foundation, the monograph was prepared as a result of the Library’s cooperation with a large number of institutions, many of them religious.
