We are proud and happy to share the news that in the latest IFLA elections, held late in April 2025, members of NSK’s staff have been elected to several IFLA sections. Announced as part of the elections’ official results was the election of Dr Sofija Klarin Zadravec to the National Libraries Section, Matilda Justinić to the Statistics and Evaluation Section and Ana Knežević Cerovski to the Cataloguing Section. NSK and its staff part of the global community of library professionals
Acting as the leading international organisation bringing together libraries, library associations and library and information professionals from all across the world, IFLA promotes the interests of LIS institutions and communities that they serve. The inclusion of NSK’s staff in the work of IFLA’s professional bodies whose members take part on a voluntary basis in shaping the guidelines, standards and strategies aimed at the development of the library profession not only serves as the evidence of the professional excellence and international reputation of the Library’s staff, but also strengthens the position of all Croatian libraries and library professionals in the international context.

The participation of NSK’s professionals in the activities of IFLA’s bodies will certainly create new opportunities for the Library to cooperate with libraries and other heritage institutions from all around the world and make its contribution to the improvement of standards, recommendations and policies in the field of librarianship and heritage protection.
