{"id":99791,"date":"2026-02-02T10:01:16","date_gmt":"2026-02-02T09:01:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nsk.hr\/?p=99791"},"modified":"2026-02-02T12:10:47","modified_gmt":"2026-02-02T11:10:47","slug":"bioblitz-and-libraries-nsk-and-zagreb-library-association-launch-green-libraries-programme-spotlighting-the-importance-of-biodiversity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nsk.hr\/en\/news\/bioblitz-and-libraries-nsk-and-zagreb-library-association-launch-green-libraries-programme-spotlighting-the-importance-of-biodiversity\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cBioBlitz and libraries\u201d: NSK and Zagreb Library Association launch green libraries programme spotlighting the importance of biodiversity"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"is-style-lead\">The National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) and the <a href=\"https:\/\/zkd.hr\/o-drustvu\/about-the-association\/\">Zagreb Library Association<\/a> (ZKD) have launched <em>BioBlitz and libraries<\/em>, a green libraries programme bringing together the general public and researchers for the purpose of promoting the vital importance of the preservation of biodiversity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By organising the programme, NSK\u2019s User Services Department and the <a href=\"https:\/\/gzukzkd.wordpress.com\/\">ZKD Citizen Science Working Group (GZUK)<\/a> intend to mobilise Croatian libraries in organising BioBlitz events \u2013 intensive field studies aimed at collecting data over a period ranging from several hours to an entire month on the species inhabiting parks, gardens and forests in on near their communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Free to set the scope and duration of their event based on the specific features of the nearby green areas and the needs of the community to which they cater, the participating libraries will be able to include in their event all users over the age of 12.
