The National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) and Croatian Designers Association<\/a> selected best designed Croatian books published in 2024 as part of the national book design competition (Hrvatska lijepa knjiga<\/em>)<\/a>, annually organised as part of a larger, international competition, conducted by the German Book Art Foundation (Stiftung Buchkunst<\/a><\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The selected books will enter two major book events in Europe \u2013 the international Best Book Design from all over the World<\/a><\/em> competition, which is held every year as part of the Leipzig Book Fair<\/a>, and the Book Art Internationa<\/em>l exhibition, traditionally taking place as part of the world-famous Frankfurt Book Fair<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out of altogether 197 entries submitted during this latest edition of the competition, a judging panel consisting of the graphic artist and professional cameraman Luka Gusi\u0107, academic painter and graphic artist Danijel Srdarev, Associate Professor at the University of Osijek\u2019s Academy of Arts and Culture<\/a> and cultural theorist Nives Toma\u0161evi\u0107, Croatian visual communication designer, co-founder of the Oaza<\/a> creative design team and the Assistant Professor at the School of Design of the University of Zagreb\u2019s Faculty of Architecture<\/a> Ma\u0161a Poljanec and Head of the NSK Print Collection<\/a> Tamara Ili\u0107 Oluji\u0107 selected the following 12 titles, listed here in alphabetical order:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
