{"id":94031,"date":"2024-12-16T11:01:49","date_gmt":"2024-12-16T10:01:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nsk.hr\/?p=94031"},"modified":"2026-01-13T16:17:32","modified_gmt":"2026-01-13T15:17:32","slug":"eop-nsk-launches-new-electronic-legal-deposit-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nsk.hr\/en\/news\/eop-nsk-launches-new-electronic-legal-deposit-system\/","title":{"rendered":"eOP: NSK launches new electronic legal deposit system"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"is-style-lead\">The National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) has set up a new system for the deposit of non-print published material (eOP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Created for Croatian <a href=\"https:\/\/nsk.hr\/en\/services-for-publishers\/\">publishers <\/a>in compliance with the provisions of the Croatian library act (<em>Zakon o knji\u017enicama i knji\u017eni\u010dnoj djelatnosti<\/em>, Official Gazette (<em>Narodne novine<\/em>) <a href=\"https:\/\/narodne-novine.nn.hr\/clanci\/sluzbeni\/2019_02_17_356.html\">17\/2019<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/narodne-novine.nn.hr\/clanci\/sluzbeni\/2019_10_98_1945.html\">98\/2019<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/narodne-novine.nn.hr\/clanci\/sluzbeni\/2022_10_114_1721.html\">114\/2022<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/narodne-novine.nn.hr\/clanci\/sluzbeni\/2024_03_36_575.html\">36\/2024<\/a>) and as part of Croatia\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/nsk.hr\/en\/services-for-publishers\/nsk-legal-deposit-office\/\">legal deposit<\/a> system, eOP, the newly established system, enables an easy deposit of non-print published material, such as e-books, audio books, electronic serial titles, digital music and sound recordings, digital maps and related material.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>eOP \u2013 making electronic legal deposit smooth and safe<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The previous system for the deposit of electronic publications via an online form has been replaced with an advanced information system, developed by the <a href=\"https:\/\/min-kulture.gov.hr\/en\">Croatian Ministry of Culture and Media<\/a>, with NSK acting as a partner, as part of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/ekultura.hr\/en\/\">eCulture<\/a><\/em>, Croatia\u2019s 2019-2023 major digitisation project focusing on cultural heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The deposited material is stored in a cloud-based state archive, in an environment which provides safety of deposited content both to the publishers and NSK, as an institution responsible for the long-term archiving and preservation of Croatian written heritage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/hop.nsk.hr\/\">NSK Legal Deposit Office webpage<\/a> makes available <a href=\"https:\/\/hop.nsk.hr\/e-praktikum\/\">video tutorials with information regarding the new electronic legal deposit system (Croatian version only)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) has set up a new system for the deposit of non-print published material (eOP).
