Resulting from them are many other activities and general and special tasks and operations, among which the following particularly stand out: &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>activities and tasks resulting from the Library\u2019s role as the national information and bibliographic centre&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>activities and tasks resulting from the Library\u2019s role as the central institution of Croatia\u2019s library and information system&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>activities and tasks resulting from the Library\u2019s role as Croatia\u2019s main central library &nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>developing <em>Croatica<\/em>, Croatia\u2019s national library collection, as a cultural asset &nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>compiling and publishing Croatia\u2019s current and retrospective national bibliographies &nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>developing and maintaining Croatia\u2019s national library catalogue and union catalogues&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>organising legal deposit procedures&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>developing the Croatian Digital Library system &nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>developing a representative collection of foreign academic and specialised book titles, serial publications and other information sources &nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>providing access to electronic resources offering scientific and specialised information for the Croatian academic community and researchers&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>developing Croatia\u2019s national system for the protection and long-term preservation of cultural and scientific heritage preserved as part of library collections &nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>organising and running continuing professional development programmes for Croatia\u2019s library professionals &nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>conducting and stimulating research and development-oriented activities in Croatia\u2019s library sector &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>publishing, organising exhibitions and promotional activities. &nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>NSK, the National and University Library in Zagreb, collects, protects, preserves, catalogues, makes available and promotes Croatia\u2019s rich and cultural and scientific heritage and develops and advances the library profession in Croatia.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) is Croatia\u2019s leading cultural and research institution and the central institution of the Croatian national library&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"ngg_post_thumbnail":0,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-94457","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.4 -
