NSK, the National and University Library in Zagreb, offers its registered members<\/a> access to around 3.7 million items in its collections in print, electronic and digital form<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You may access the items in our collections<\/a> in the Library\u2019s reading rooms<\/a>, and some of the items are available for loan. The digitised collection items and our digital-born resources<\/a> are available online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Using NSK collection items in the Library\u2019s reading rooms<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Many of NSK collection items are easily available in the Library\u2019s reading rooms. All reading rooms collections<\/a> except for the Foreign Croatica Collection<\/a> and Doctoral and Master\u2019s Theses Collection offer easy access to their material on open access shelves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Access to closed stack items<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Most of the resources in NSK collections are closed stack items. You may request them at the help desks in the reading rooms on Floors 3 and 4 and the help desk on the Ground Floor. It is possible to request up to ten items (books, periodicals, newspapers) a day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reading room loans<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You may request items from closed stacks as reading room loans and use them for up to 60 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Borrowing collection items<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You may borrow items on open access shelves in the reading rooms on Floors 3 and 4 of which there are more copies available, book titles in our LIS Collection (Mezzanine Floor) and closed stack items available for loan outside the Library. Such items may be requested at the help desks in the reading rooms on Floors 3 and 4 and the help desk on the Ground Floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Loan period<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You may borrow up to five items at a time for a period of 30 days, with the possibility to apply for a loan renewal for another 30 days at least one day prior to the expiry of the first 30-day loan period. A loan renewal may be requested in person, by phone, email or through NSK user account, which you log into via the Library\u2019s Catalogue<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overdue loans are charged according to NSK Fees and Charges<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
