NSK to join 2024 Miroslav Krleža Festival

On 2 July 2024, at 12.00, the National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) will put on a special programme as part of the 13th Miroslav Krleža Festival, the 2024 edition of the annual cultural festival commemorating Miroslav Krleža (1893-1981), one of the most distinguished, world-famous Croatian writers and thinkers of all time. At the traditional get-together, Krleža and his invaluable legacy will be presented by the Festival’s author and director Goran Matović, Dr Lada Čale Feldman from the Zagreb

On 6 June 2024, the National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) hosted a presentation of the Latin transliteration of another 16th-century masterpiece of Croatian Glagolitic heritage, which the Library published with the support of the Croatian Ministry of Science, Education and Youth and Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts Foundation. On 26 April 2024, the National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) hosted a special programme celebrating the inscription of a centuries-old Croatian script on Croatia’s registry of cultural property as intangible cultural heritage. On 9 April 2024, the National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) hosted the opening of an exhibition marking the centenary of the birth of Dinko Fio, Croatia’s notable 20th-century folk song collector, composer and music educator (Daleko su moji škoji). Authored by Dobrila Zvonarek and remaining on view until 19 April 2024, the exhibition was organised with the support of the Croatian Ministry of Culture and Media by NSK and the Klapa Singing Festival in Omiš (Festival dalmatinskih klapa Omiš), whose museum will host the exhibition from 27 June to 30 July 2024.
