On 16 September 2025, in collaboration with the Croatian Association for Scholarly Communication (ZNAK) and Elsevier, the National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) will host Scopus Day – Workshop for Croatian journal editors.

Starting at 13.00, the workshop will give an overview of Croatian academic journals in the Scopus abstract and citation database and provide the workshop participants with useful information regarding the journal inclusion process. Also, the representatives of the Association and of the Portal of Croatian scientific and professional journals (HRČAK), will present the current trends and efforts related to improving the quality and increasing the global visibility of Croatian journals.

Registration open by 9 September

The journal Peristil, one of currently 203 Croatian journals in the Scopus database, and its path to Scopus will be presented as an example to illustrate the requirements for a journal’s inclusion in the database. The workshop programme will close with a Q&A session, as part of which the workshop participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the inclusion process and ways to improve journal quality.

Registration for the workshop is free of charge and open by 9 September 2025. Since the number of participants is limited, everyone interested in the workshop should register as soon as possible, including their questions for the Q&A session in the online registration form.

NSK, the representative of the Croatian academic library consortium

In addition to the Scopus database, NSK provides access for the Croatian academic community to a wide array of other established international research databases and electronic scientific journals.

These valuable academic resources are available via the Library’s eResources website, which enables both subscription-based and public access to databases and journal titles. Developed as part of a homonymous 2016-2021 project and the Library’s activities aimed at supporting Croatian researchers, it greatly contributes to an increased visibility of their research output and to the advancement of the Croatian research environment.
