NSK research project on Croatian incunabula receives grant from Adris Foundation

The National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) has been awarded a grant from the Adris Foundation for its research project on Croatian incunabula, Croatia’s first printed books. With the €7,000 grant, awarded as a result of a personal donation by the President of the Adris grupa Ltd. Management Board and the Adris grupa Ltd. Supervisory Board Ante Vlahović, NSK will publish a monograph (Hrvatski prvotisci) presenting the results of more than a decade of research into the Croatian books dating from the 15th century. On 4 September 2024, the Director of the National Library of Kosovo Dr Blerina Rogova Gaxha visited NSK, the National and University Library in Zagreb. During the visit, Dr Rogova Gaxha and the NSK Director General Dr Ivanka Stričević discussed the two libraries’ previous cooperation initiatives and various opportunities for continuing their successful collaboration in the future, especially with regard to the education of librarians and their continuous professional development, digitisation of resources in library collections, long-term preservation of digital heritage and storing legal deposit, as well as to the development of libraries and library profession in the future and to the social value of libraries.

“Solidarity with Ukraine”: Exhibition by Ukrainian Post Office on view at NSK by 15 Sep 2024

By 15 September 2024, the National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) is hosting the Solidarity with Ukraine exhibition, organised by the Ukrainian Post Office in cooperation with the Croatian Post Office and Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and featuring the postage stamps issued in support of Ukraine’s struggle against Russian aggression. NSK summer opening hours: 15 July – 18 August 2024

In the period between 15 July and 18 August 2024, the National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) will be providing its services from 8.00 to 15.00 every workday, except on Wednesdays, when it will be open for users from 12.00 to 19.00. The Library will be closed on Saturdays, as well as on 15 and 16 August 2024. Starting from 19 August 2024, the Library will resume its regular opening hours. NSK café and restaurant closing over summer On Friday, 12 July 2024, the café and restaurant operating as part of the Library will close at 15.00 and reopen on Monday, 2 September 2024, resuming their regular opening hours – from Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 15.00.
