This issue’s Feature section is thus dedicated to the 30th anniversary in 2025 of the Library’s relocation to its current building, popularly referred to as “the glass cube”. The In the focus section highlights the most important NSK’s programmes and projects in 2024, while the NSK treasures section presents major last year’s acquisitions to the Library’s special collections among which Antiphonarium Romanum, a 1725 Pauline codex, particularly stands out.

Projects, anniversaries, successful cooperation initiatives – and much more…

Particularly worth singling out among NSK’s 2024 activities are those related to the setting up of Bukinet.hr, a cloud-based system for 83 Croatian academic libraries, made possible through the Library’s implementation of the Alma/Primo VE library services platform, developed by the Ex Libris Clarivate company.

Along with bringing into focus the great anniversaries which we marked in 2024 – the 130th anniversary of the birth of the NSK Manuscripts and Old Books Collection and the 20th anniversary of the Croatian Web Archive – we are also commemorating in this issue’s Homage section our longtime and fruitful cooperation with the late outstanding Croatian writer and Fellow of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts Luko Paljetak.

Learn more about the Library’s events in 2024, but also about our plans for 2025, which we are announcing as part of the new, A look ahead… section, remaining determined to carry out our mission in protecting and curating Croatia’s written heritage.
