Fifteenth Festival of Croatian Digitisation Projects: Call for Papers
The 15th edition of the Festival of Croatian Digitisation Projects (D-fest) will be held on 14 and 15 May 2026. Organised every year by the National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK), the Festival offers opportunities for the exchange of knowledge, experiences and examples of good practice in heritage digitisation, spotlighting the needs of heritage institutions and their development as a community.
This year’s D-fest will address issues related to the strategic planning of heritage digitisation and institutional digital transformation management, along with advancing and applying digital heritage management systems and ensuring long-term accessibility and preservation of digital collections, as well as to the latest digitisation and digitisation-related technologies and processes enabling more efficient workflows and new ways of using digital heritage.
The future of heritage digitisation
The Festival’s programme will particularly highlight research, innovation and observable trends affecting the development of heritage digitisation and digital heritage management, including the role of artificial intelligence in managing and interpreting heritage, new analytical approaches, the use of advanced technologies and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Also, it will cover topics regarding the development of products and services enabling access to and the interpretation and re-use of digital content and present Croatian and international digitisation projects contributing to the visibility, integration and further development of digitisation-related standards and practices.
Submit your paper proposal by 27 March 2026
The paper proposals for either 5- or 15-minute presentations may be submitted online by 27 March 2026 and should address one of the following themes:
- strategic planning of heritage digitisation
- digital heritage management systems
- digitisation and digitisation-related technologies and processes
- the future of heritage digitisation (research, innovation and trends)
- digital products and services
- digitisation projects in Croatia and abroad.
