“Digital Transformation”: NSK hosts Systems Librarianship Conference 2023

On 12 December 2023, the National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) hosted Systems Librarianship Conference 2023, the 7th open conference for users of the NSK Integrated Library System. Organised with the support of the Croatian Ministry of Culture and Media, the conference again brought together information professionals and librarians from all types of libraries.
Themed Digital Transformation, the conference programme focused on issues relating to digitally mature learning environments, artificial intelligence, new library technologies and related concepts, cloud-based library services platforms and discovery systems and services.
The conference, whose hybrid programme attracted over 100 participants, was opened by the NSK Director General Dr Ivanka Stričević, The Zagreb University Library Affairs Assistant to the NSK Director General Dr Dijana Machala and the representative of the Croatian Ministry of Culture and Media Dr Ivona Despot, all of who emphasised the significant role of libraries in the digital transformation of the higher education system.

Presenting the latest insights and best practice examples in the field of the development and implementation of library information systems, the conference enabled the exchange of ideas and experiences required for further advancements in libraries wishing to keep abreast of progressive, digitally-oriented trends and provide services which are up-to-date, based on the latest technologies, digital information management strategies and contemporary digital tools.
