ZOOBookathon: NSK 2025 escape room exploration of fascinating fauna in NSK collections

On 23 April 2025 (17.00 – 21.00), the National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) will organise its 2025 escape room event. Prepared as part of this year’s edition of the Croatian Book Night, the programme will offer its participants a unique opportunity to explore the fascinating animal world hiding in the Library’s collections. After the Library’s successful 2024 escape room programme, which spotlighted the 150^th anniversary of the birth of Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić (1874-1938), the author of the iconic works of Croatian children’s literature and a six-time nominee for the Nobel Prize for Literature, this year’s NSK escape room event will take its participants on an adventurous journey to a hidden world of animals lurking in the Library’s collections.

Croatian Book Night 2025 – giving animals credit for shaping literature and popular culture

Organised as part of this year’s Croatian Book Night programme, once again as a result of the Library’s cooperation with the Fox in a Box company, the event will spotlight the indispensable role of animals in shaping literature and feature animal-focused puzzles whose solving will help the event participants to discover the rich wildlife in the Library’s holdings and learn more about NSK as Croatia’s largest library.

Registration is free of charge and everyone interested have to apply as part of a two-to-five-member team. Also, persons under the age of 18 may only apply provided that during the game they will be accompanied by an adult.
