“Public libraries in the digital world”: Call for papers for the 15th Croatian Conference on Public Libraries

Submit your paper proposal for Public libraries in the digital world, the 15th Croatian Conference on Public Libraries, scheduled to take place from 8 to 11 October 2025 at the Vinkovci City Library.

Organised by the National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) and supported by the Croatian Ministry of Culture and Media, the Conference’s 15th anniversary edition spotlights the public libraries’ growing role as the key places in the context of digital transition, to which they contribute through various activities and initiatives. Increasingly relying in their work on the latest technological advances to meet their users’ needs and guard and curate cultural heritage, public libraries are strengthening their social relevance as innovation hubs offering educational programmes and promoting social inclusion.

Paper submission deadline: 22 April 2025

Proposals for 10-15-minute oral presentations, poster presentations, Pecha Kucha sessions, public library-focused film presentations, roundtables, panel discussions and workshops may be submitted online by 22 April 2025 (submission form is available only in Croatian).

Apart from the Vinkovci City Library, which will host the Conference, the co-organisers of the Conference are the Croatian Library Association and the Slavonia, Baranja and Srijem Library Association, with the National and University Library in Ljubljana (Narodna in univerzitetna knjižnica Ljubljana, NUK), Slovenian Library Association (Zveza bibliotekarskih društev Slovenije, ZBDS) and Slovenian Public Libraries Association (Združenje splošnih knjižnic) acting as partners.
