NSK Doors Open Days 2024
20 & 21 February 2024

On 20 and 21 February 2024, you can make a special guided tour of the National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) and learn more about the treasures preserved in its collections as part of the 2024 NSK Doors Open Days programme.
NSK Doors Open Days are held every year, ushering in the celebration of the National and University Library in Zagreb Day, NSK Day. Their programme is this year spotlighting Marko Marulić, “the father of Croatian literature” and “the Croatian Dante”, the 500th anniversary of whose passing and whose significance for European cultural heritage prompted the Government of the Republic of Croatia to declare 2024 the Year of Marko Marulić.

Apart from offering more frequent guided tours of the Library, the two-day programme will this year again feature interesting workshops led by our conservation specialists.
Special guided tours of the Library will be organised at 10.00, 13.00 and 17.00, while the workshops through which the members of the NSK Preservation and Storage Department will present to all interested visitors various book conservation techniques will be held in the side lobby between 15.00 and 17.00.

The visitors will also have the opportunity to get acquainted with the resources in the Library’s collections through the inspiring and entertainment-oriented material in the NSK Doors Open Days chill-out corner which will include the printouts of the latest NSK colouring book for all ages, prepared as part of this year’s #ColorOurCollections international social media festival.
Visit us and seize the opportunity to take a peek at some of the most valuable treasures in our collections and learn more about the Library’s over four centuries of existence.
Welcome to NSK Doors Open Days 2024 – our doors are many, but open to all!
