NSK WordPod: Croatian writers’ digital archive

The visual identity of NSK WordPod, Croatian writers’ digital archive maintained by the National and University Library in Zagreb.

In 2023, the National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) set up NSK WordPod, a digital archive presenting Croatian contemporary writers. Developed as part of the project supported by the Croatian Ministry of Culture and Media, NSK WordPod currently makes available unique video content bringing closer to the general public Croatia’s ten contemporary authors and their works.

Launched in the year which the Library dedicated to the achievements of women in Croatian history and culture through a special NSK celebrates women programme, the NSK WordPod archive first featured Croatia’s ten contemporary female writers – Nada Mihaljević, Vanda Petanjek, Sanja Baković, Ivana Bodrožić, Sanja Lovrenčić, Nastja Kulović, Sanja Pilić, Monika Herceg, Maša Kolanović and Sibila Petlevski.

Ten Croatian female authors first presented as part of NSK WordPod, the Croatian writers’ digital archive.

Wishing to give Croatian contemporary writers an opportunity to personally present their work as part of the Croatian digital library, NSK WordPod brings videos in which they read their own texts and share details of their creation, thus capturing their voices, the way they interact with their writings and their entire expression, both verbal and non-verbal.

NSK will continually be adding new authors to the archive, determined to save from oblivion not only the works of contemporary Croatian literature in their immaterial and physical aspects, but as many aspects as possible of their writers as persons, and thus safeguard them and their entire legacy for future generations.
